Hi There!
My name is Robin Harris and I get to provide
"Art as Therapy"
I'm a mother to two wonderful adult sons and the grandmother to one handsome grandson. I was in Upper Management in the Medical Field for over 25 years. I absolutely loved it. I was the liaison between staff and physicians, as well as, a trainer of Medical Billing/Coding and of the medical software upgrades as they happened. Towards the end of my career, healthcare just wasn’t the same with so many new restrictions. So I found myself having to let go of employees who, even though they worked the same job for over 20 years, didn’t meet the educational requirements needed to keep their positions…it was my job, but very disheartening to terminate Heads of Households, parents, etc.
So 3 years ago, I threw caution to the wind and stepped out of management and did Medical Billing and Coding from home….money was great, didn’t have to drive from 1 location to the next, but still it just wasn’t
satisfying...something was missing! After helping a friend with their Art Studio by teaching some classes, I found out who I wanted to be when I grew up…LOL.
I loved the feeling of helping people achieve a goal. Most came in to have an evening of fun doing Sip & Paint, but doubtful that they could recreate a painting. But with my help, they did it! Just by listening and following my directions. I was always praised for my training skills in the medical field because of my patience and allowing everyone to learn at their own pace. Who knew it would work with painting?
So HERE I AM….owner of Puddy Paints. Not only do I still get to “train others” during a Painting session, but I also get to provide Art as Therapy for those individuals who are living with Mental Illnesses, residing in a Nursing/Assisted Living Facility, children dealing with traumas, etc.
Then a friend told me about a scholarship to learn to deal Blackjack. Something I can do overnight with benefits, while building my business during the day. Three games later, I’m still here! And oh how the customers remind me of some of my clients. Sometimes I really want to whip out a canvas and some paint to calm them down…LOL
I'm sure you're wondering, How I came up with the name Puddy Paints? My Dad has always called me Puddy and even into adulthood and turning 50 this year….he refuses to call me Robin, even in public. So here I am! Puddy ready to help you create and Paint!
